Two Baptisms

It was a lovely Saturday!
John Wo (on the right) was Baptized at the Ryde Ward
Sisters Cai and Maddux met him near the UNI.
They taught him the lessons and we got to be part of the exciting process.
John asks good questions and learns very fast.
He spent 15 min. sharing his testimony in Chinese (he speaks English) after his baptism.
We English speaking only people only understood a few words like,
Apple, Chee Chee, Maddux, Amen
The Chinese enjoyed it though .
John C has been coming to Church for two years.
A young lady whom he worked with shared the gospel with him.
He did not want to join the Church for her so he started coming to the Hornsby Ward
where he lives a year ago, instead of her ward.
John felt it was true but did not act on his feelings.
We met with him and the Sisters one evening.
He was going back and forth about being Baptized,
Elder Doney asked him if he knew it was right why was he waiting to do the right thing.
That was the kick start to his deciding to get Baptized.
(John told Elder Doney that after he was Baptized)
John is well educated, employed and will be a strength where ever he lives.
These are the blessings of Missionary Service.
Some to the Missionaries who have worked with John C.

Sisters Hepworth and Walsh, John C. and Brother Boyle.
A great end to a very hard working Missionary service.
It was so nice as Sister Hepworth has finished her Mission
and will be flying home tomorrow.
It was a lovely day!

72 yrs old

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELDER DONEY
This is a grand day for Elder Doney 72 yrs old!
He says some days he feels every day of that 72 years!
We are going out to "Hogs Breath Cafe" for dinner.
They have good tender meat there so we are told.
We shall find out tonight.

Little Churches

Out in the Country

Love that blue sky
You don't see very many in Sydney

Interesting things

It is interesting how we find out things while we are out here!
See pictures of our 1st Great-Grandchild on face book.
We found out Andy our Grandson got his Mission call to Uganda via face book!
We found out our Grandson Kenny got engaged via face book!
Thank goodness Melissa our Granddaughter let us know via E-mail when her
Mission call was coming. She is going to Spain in August.
Find out who is having a baby, who is going to school where, who is sick, who died,
who has had surgery, who is having twins, who is on vacation,
what anyone is doing we find it out via face book.
Hardly anyone writes any more!
The saying "Out of sight out of mind seems to be true".

Car Sold

Goodbye little faith full car.
Elder Doney sold the Hyundai a week and a half ago.
We are now back to driving a mission car which is nice but
can't carry anyone but Missionaries.
He sold it for what we paid for it a year ago.
We now get to travel before we come home.
Here we come Australia to see more of your beauty.
The Lord has watched out for us all along the way.

Suprise!

There was a knock on the door last week!
Guess what?
The Ciesla Easter Bunny came
They know just what we love SEE'S Candy
All the kinds we love.
We are enjoying every bite.
THANK YOU CIESLA FAMILY EASTER BUNNY

Teaching with the Young Missionaries

We spend a lot of time each day teaching the Gospel with the young Missionaries.
It is a joy and a pleasure to share the Gospel with those who do not have it in their life.
These young Missionaries are so good at sharing the Gospel.
Their love and care of the investigators is truly a treat to be part of.
We are so thankful for them and all the Missionaries around the World who are willing
to go out and spend 18 mos. to 2 yrs of their life serving the Lord.
We are blessed to have in our family 2 sons, 3 sons-in-law, 4 Grandsons who have served.
We now have two Grandsons Devin and Andy serving, in Mexico and Uganda.
Our Granddaughter Melissa is going to Spain, leaving 18 Aug 2010.
We are so proud of all of you.
Thank You!

Jack and Jill

Hay!!!!
Remember Jack and Jill and all the many babies they had?
We have seen lots of ducks and their young ones.
Always reminding me of ours and the fun it was watching them.
Remember the coyotes who jumped the fence at night and wanted a meal?
The only one they got was my wonderful Goose.
I cried over the loss of her, she was our only nice goose.

We walked for K's (miles) on Monday. I loved it!

Yes to get to the light house out on the point we had to walk past here!
The beach was down a cliff, it interesting what people will do in public!!!

Trip to Watson Bay

We went on a trip with the Sr. Couples 5th April 2010
as it was Easter Monday
We rode the ferry from Rydalmere to Sydney,Circular Quay
and on to another ferry to Watson Bay.
That is down town Sydney in the background.
I love the big big big trees here. That's Elder Doney with the tree

Sydney Harbour (the way they spell it) entrance.
That is the Pacific Ocean

Love the cliffs, Harbour entrance. I hiked up to the top.
Beautiful!!!

The colour of the water was awe some as it hit the rocks.
Sea foam green.

Fruit and Vegies

Here we go fruit and vegies I have never seen in the USA.
Of course I have not hung out in the Asian markets in the USA.
There were no names on all the produce just prices.
If you know what any of them are let us know.

I love the spikes on the red ones
All these green things were called mellons,
I don't think they are like what we think of as mellons in the USA
some had spicy, sour, etc on the sign.

We see these in the market all the time.
I will have to ask if they are fruit, potatoes, or what ever?

Cabramatta

Here we are in Vietnamese Town (I can't find the spelling in the dictionary)
We went with the Young Single Adults and friends.
2nd April 2010.This is what I had to eat, Soup noodles, duck & mushroom.
Some of the Young Single Adults we ate with
and Missionaries.
The drink, sugar cane.

Odds and Ends

Looking out from the front of the Library at UNI
This is where we meet the Missionaries and the investigators
to teach lessons. We go and sit on the lawn for the lesson.
(I end up itching from the grass )
The lessons are really wonderful the Chinese students have great questions.
They also keep their appointments.
Ryde District Meeting
Their meetings are very good.

Elder Cai came out to Australia when we did.
He did not speak English when he came.
Elder Cai now speaks English very well.
We met Elder Cai the first day we got to Tamworth.
Hello was about all he could say.
I told him to learn 5 new words each day.
He has and many more. Elder Cai is a blessing for the Chinese work here.
