Helping Hands Service Project

The Stake and all of Australia had a Helping Hands Service Project,
last October
Ours was planting native plants along the beach.
It was hot and fun all rolled into one.
After all was planted we went to Redhead Park for a
Sausage Sizzle (grilled sausage wrapped in white bread)
It is a staple here, everyone is raised eating them.
I am not a fan! Costes and Siobhan Constantinou

Robert

Robert and his beautiful yard.
Robert can name all the flowers and plants in his yard.
Their home is spotless, they also have two big German Shepards,
one is very old and one is a puppy.
Robert is an Autistic Savant
He is a member of the Toronto Ward and is the care taker of
Noel who has some learning disabilities.
They are so kind and caring.

Robert and Noel can no longer get to Church as Robert no longer drives.
They live 30 minutes away and no one lives near them that drives.

Marie

This is our dear friend Marie.
She was our next door neighbor in Tamworth.
Marie has Cancer, she is dying.
We went to visit Marie while she was in Sydney at her daughters for Radiation,
just to stop the pain.
She has lost so much weight. This is Marie before we moved from Tamworth.
Marie again before we moved.
Marie made me laugh.
She knew all my Children's and Grandchildren names.
I would go watch 60 min. on Sunday evenings with her.
We talk on the phone now and we miss each other.
She is such an up beat person never down or feel sorry for herself.
Love You Marie.
I am glad Heavenly Father placed you in my life

Trip to Sydney in December

We attended Christmas at the House. (the Opera House)
It was well worth the hot night before, no sleep,
and the cost.
In town we went to the Queen Victoria building,
There in the middle was this awe some tree, all decorated with
Swarovski crystals.
Very beautiful!

Book of Mormon Challenge

The Mission President Challenged the Missionaries
last October to take a new Book of Mormon
read it by the end of December and underline
only any reference to Christ, name, speaking, Heavenly Father, The Holy Spirit. It is amazing on almost every page Christ is mentioned.
It is an amazing experience.
THE BOOK IS TRULY A TESTAMENT OF JESUS CHRIST
I testify that the Book of Mormon is true!
It will enrich your life!
I am so thankful for it and the knowledge it gives me and anyone who reads it
with a prayer in their heart to know if it is true.
Love
Sister Doney

WEATHER!!!!!!!!!

The Weather here is nuts!
Last week it was in the 100's
Sunday we had two huge thunder storms
which turned the weather cool and even cold at night.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
lovely nice weather (no humidity), great to be out in.
Thursday 95 degrees with humidity.
Friday 110 degrees and high humidity, we were dying.
We could not even get cool enough sitting in front of the air conditioner.
A wet towel and a fan makes it possible to sleep.
Saturday 100 and lower humidity, Saturday evening wind, rain and cool, cool, cool.
Oh so wonderful rain, wind, and cool, cool, cool.
What a good night sleep we will get tonight!
Thank you Heavenly Father!

The Articles of Faith

A good place to hang the big poster of the Articles of faith is on the toilet room door.
It is good for all of us to review them.
It is a Great place for the Primary Children to see them.
It will help them in the learning process.

Great Read

This book is a Great Read!
It was written by a Holocaust surviver, Diane Armstrong.
She lives in Australia now. She researched her family back 5 generations.
Got their stories, most very sad, but very enlightening and eye opening.
Man inhumanity to man! It is unreal what one person can do to another and not feel anything!!!!

Christmas Gifts and Garden

This is our Poor tomato bush after it got cooked last month.
I moved into the shade after that. Our tomato bushes and strawberry plants
Our Christmas present to ourselves.
A portable air conditioner, fan to move the cool air around.
Life saver.

This nativity is what Elder Doney painted for me for Christmas.
I love it but won't be able to bring them home as they weigh a ton, very solid wood.
The story behind these is:
My friend Ruth Pepper was going to paint them for me.
She had a stroke and could no longer paint.
The unpainted figures came to me and Elder Doney decided to paint them for me.
Thank you so much Elder Doney!

Visit to Blue Mountains

When we went to see the Blue Mountains we went to Echo Canyon.
It was totally covered with clouds
after 15 min the wind came up and blew out the clouds.
(One of Heavenly Fathers blessings for us)
We took pictures and then the clouds came back in this is the in between stage.
Elder Doney and Brother Langley
in the little Village of Leura.
Waiting for the Ladies to finish shopping.
Can you imagine how I felt when I saw this flag flying in the Village of Leura?
I wanted to jump up and down, yell, etc.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FLAG, I LOVE IT!
The little sign Leura.
This is for my friend Lura.
We loved our visit to this little Village.
It would rain on and off as we walked around.

I brushed, rubbed and enjoyed his company.
If you don't close the door until it clicks, into the lounge room
he knows it and comes right over and pushes his way in.
Smart Rabbit. (6 yrs old)

A flock of Cockatoos

This is all in a National Park not far from the Langleys

New Years Weekend 2010

We went to visit the Langley's in Glenbrook, NSW
for New Years.
Their Cottage is like a Bed and Breakfast

We serve with the Langley's at the Sydney Temple on Thursday Afternoons.
These are some pictures, more to come.

New Years 2010

HAPPY NEW YEARS 2010

We went down to Glenbrook and stayed with some friends we serve with at the Sydney Temple. We stayed up until 1 AM which is strange for us, who usually sleep through. We watched the 2nd largest fireworks in the world at Sydney Harbour. They were on the bridge and what a display it was. It stopped raining long enough for the grand evening.

More on our visit over New Years coming up.
