Aboriginal Dancers

These are young Aboriginal Dancers
This young man with the branches is a tree,
The others are chopping it down to find the bee that stung one of them.
They will also find honey. Dancers, are so fun to watch. Each dance has a story.
Following the bee to the tree

The man that got stung
Dancers with Sister Doney
This was the start of NAIDOC week.
We went up to the Hospital where this event was put on.
This year it was Honouring the Youth and Elders of the Aboriginal People.
All these young men are part Aboriginal.
As the other cultures are mixed in,
The dark skin is washed out never to come back.
The young man 3rd from the left, his Father is much darker.
It is hard to believe but true.

Auzzie Burger

Here I am with an Auzzie Burger.
It has mince (hamburger), tomato, lettuce, Fried Egg, onion,
mayo., no beetroot (pickled beet), bacon, tomato sauce (ketchup),
and sprouts.
I think that is more than enough. I cut the mince in half as it was just too much to eat.
I ate the whole thing and knew it.
It was very good

Outside working

I was such a happy camper last Saturday.
We went out to Werris Creek and helped Sister Pemberton,
fix fences, trim trees, etc.
It was a beautiful day, sunshine, warm, and to be outside working
I loved every minute.
We went out again Monday and helped trim more trees, (sawing
Elder Doney said "Oh for a chain saw")
up on ladders, very high up as we were trimming Gum trees.
Elder Doney fixed a door that would not stay shut, etc.
These are my kind of days.

Happy Birthday Heather

Our youngest daughter turned 36 on July 16, 2009.
What memories Birthdays bring back.
Especially the "Birth Day".
I had fast deliveries and easy compared to other women.
Heather Dr. Sullivan barely got to the hospital in time to deliver you.
Not much was done as usually happens to prep for the birth,
Thing went too fast.
Thank goodness!
We now have another Sweet Baby Girl.
Reddish hair and all.
We took you home unnamed, drove the hospital crazy,
but we wanted just the right name.
We decided on the best name that there could be for you!
Heather, I love the name.
You have been and are a joy in our life.
Thank You.
Love to you.
The Mom

Manilla Santa

Neville Grant,
Santa for Manilla's Children for the last 30 years.
This is Nevilles little van that he pulls the Sleigh around town with,
picking up children who stand along the street waiting for a ride.
He does this for two weeks before Christmas.
Neville was hungry and did not get much for Christmas when he was a child.
He gathers gifts all year and gives them out along with the rides.
We liked the sayings on his van.

Neville took care of his wife for seven years as she slowly died.

She has been gone for 17 years now.
Neville is a Dad, Grandpa and a good wonderful man.
We loved meeting him as we were looking for the
"Lost Sheep".
We left Neville two DVDs
Families can be together Forever and
Finding Faith in Christ.
We will be going back up to visit and share more of the Gospel with him.

Odds and Ends

Elder Doney showing off his Damper Bread
he made at the Ronald McDonald House.
Damper Bread was made out in the outback.
Flour, salt and water, then add what ever elce you want to it.
It's good especially with soup, stew, things you can soak up with it.

Good Bye Sister Liu

Sister Liu has been transferred.
We said Good Bye yesterday.
The Sisters came by on their way to Sydney.
So we got to have hugs.
Sister Liu is a very good Missionary.
She has until November and then she goes home to China.
Where she can share the gospel, only with her family.
She can not even wear her Missionary Badge home.
China does not allow such things.
Sister Liu heard the Gospel in the UK while studying for her Masters.
She decided she wanted to go on a Mission, worked a year to earn the money.
Her English parents helped pay for her Mission.
Sister Liu is a very dedicated person, to the Mission and China. Sisters Liu and Hepworth

Posting Pictures on the Blog Drives Me Nuts Sometimes!

I get already to post, get the pictures all lined up
and wall-la it won't let me post pictures.
Sometimes it seems as if I spend hours trying to post and
nothing happens.
I hope when we get back to the States
I get a better system.
OR give up blogging.
I certainly will be less frustrated.
Oh well I just about get caught up with all the pictures then this happens.
I had some great Aboriginal Dancers pictures to post.
I guess they will just have to wait.

Armidale Aboriginal Cultural Center and Keeping Place

Last Thursday we had a break, (someone canceled)
so we went to the Aboriginal Cultural Center in Armidale.
Here is a very large crocodile carved out of wood.
Actually he is not so big for here.
Elder Doney just needed to put his hand in it's mouth.

Here the crock is eating a person.

Outside the Aboriginal Center.
It was cold out.
You are not allowed to take pictures inside.
It was very interesting.
I love the art work of the Aboriginal people.

Saved a Lamb

On July 1, 2009 we were out looking for the "Lost Sheep".
As we were driving I spotted a little baby Lamb out side the fence beside the road.
We stopped, I got out went over and cornered the lamb.
I picked it up, took it over and put it over the fence.
Mum was bleating for it and so was the lamb calling out.
The little one ran over and started nursing.
They were content, and so was I.
The lamb was safe!

Meet the Ladies

This is Maggie and Mable.
Don't you just love those lips!
We met them driving down the road on our usual quest.
Looking for the "Lost Sheep".
Maggie (below) kept talking to us.
Low guttural sounds.

Mable did not say much.

Here I am talking with Maggie.
She wanted to touch but I was not so sure what she might do.
So I did not let her nibble my hand.

Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday America!
We miss being there to celebrate her Birthday
with all of you.
We have such a wonderful country,
I have always loved her.
When I see the American Flag my heart flies.
I am thankful to all who gave of all they had to make and keep her free.
I am thankful to our family who loves America also.
We will be missing the Deweyville parade, Candy drop, party and fireworks.
Love to all.
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

The Mount Misery Restaurant.

Sisters Hepworth and Liu
Cooking dinner for an investigator, a ward member and us.
It was very good. (Elder taught them to cook a chook)
These Sisters are good missionary's and fun to be with.
We go to Armidale each Thursday and spend the day working with them.
We charish the experience with them.

Per request from Meagan

These are some more pictures of Kangaroos.I love the Joey hanging out the Mum's pouch.

An Albino Kangaroo, they are rare.
Friends, they are so cute together.

Tamworth Flat

This is our wonderful electrical cords for all our needs here at this spot. Our Kitchen in the early days, before we started acquiring things.
Our bathroom.
I use the shower door to keep track of our appointments,
and going on's.

Our bedroom dresser.
Pictures from the Op-shop.
The little box was given to me for my Birthday.
Ruth Pepper painted it.

Our Queen size bed, how wonderful after twin and double beds.
The head board is one of the closet doors.
The doors rubbed on our clothes as they went back and forth,
so I took them down.
This one makes a good head board.
In order to get the lamps high enough to see,
I put books and a box under them.
Works great.
Books from the op-shop, cheap.
Yes that is Dee's little DVD player.
He watches DVDs to put him to sleep.
