Odds and Ends

Looking out from the front of the Library at UNI
This is where we meet the Missionaries and the investigators
to teach lessons. We go and sit on the lawn for the lesson.
(I end up itching from the grass )
The lessons are really wonderful the Chinese students have great questions.
They also keep their appointments.
Ryde District Meeting
Their meetings are very good.
Sisters Cai (pronounced Tie) and Maddux
Ryde Ward Sister Missionaries

Institute Class on the lawn at UNI

Elder Cai (Tie) and Elder Bennett Ryde Ward
at Jaspers Baptism

Elder Cai came out to Australia when we did.
He did not speak English when he came.
Elder Cai now speaks English very well.
We met Elder Cai the first day we got to Tamworth.
Hello was about all he could say.
I told him to learn 5 new words each day.
He has and many more. Elder Cai is a blessing for the Chinese work here.

New Digs

Our New Digs
23 Charles St, Carlingford, NSW 2118
We live down on the right and that is our car out in front.
We get to park on the street. Our laundry and bathroom all in one.
All smaller than our laundry room in Deweyville

Our kitchen

Our lounge room and Elder Doney is lounging.
Wood under the lounge cushions so they don't sag when you sit.

A Chinese lady upstairs who gives piano lessons 7 days a week.
Not to bad all in all, could be way worse.

Odds and Ends

Apple Strudel
by Elder Doney
He has made lots with his apple peeler and puffy pastry
they taste great!I was looking out the window of the spare room when the close line
fell over with all the clothes on it.
I usually don't watch the clothes line going around but it was just blowing in the wind
and was fun to watch.
All of a sudden it just slowly fell over.
What were the chances I would see it happen?
Elder and Sister Doney with Sister and President Scruggs

One day I opened the mail and there were my very favorite cookies.
From one of my very favorite daughters.
Oh how I treasured each cookie and every bite.
Thanks bunches Amy Girl!

How sad it is to lose a young 25 year old to drug
and other addictions.
Stephanie second from the left died last Friday
after suffering a stroke, going blind, clot on the brain, had surgery,
then went 75% brain dead, then passed on.
She was a loving sweet young lady with lots of troubles.

1st Sunday in Ryde Ward

Wow! 30+ Chinese students at Sacrament Meeting. Most all working on a Masters or PHD at UNE (college) here. Eleven are investigators many have just been baptised and one is going to be baptised this Saturday. About 8 senior members, about 5 families, 5 primary children, several married couples, 3 sets of Sr. Missionary Couples and 2 sets of young missionaries, that about made up church today. How fun it was to mix and mingle with all. We went and picked up 3 young men for church. The investigator class had 31 in it. Great class and fun was had by all. The lesson was on Faith. We are excited to be in the Ryde Ward.
