Christmas at Tamworth

We drove to Tamworth on Christmas morning.
It was a lovely drive.
I so love the country and all that goes with it.
We went to The Bartlett's for tea (lunch).
It was very Aussie.
Lots of family and friends, we had a very lovely time.
We then went to visit The Thompson's, Ronald McDonald House (Andrew was there),
Ruth McLoud, Walkers and then over to Davison's where we stayed.
It is fun visiting with those you have learned to love and spent nine months with.
Saturday we visited Marie, our sweet next door neighbor, Oh how I miss her(she has cancer and has lost40 or 50 lbs) She is not feeling very well as of now.
Marie will not do anything to battle the cancer,
the Doctor told her it would not do any good anyway.
We visited the Peppers, John, Marea and Ruth. Ruth is really going down hill,
she can not talk now, she writes notes. Our heart goes out to her.
We then went out to Werris Creek and visited Jan Pemberton and Glen,
then out to Qurindi to visit Rita Moore who is moving to Mudggie.
Rita is 95 and is an amazing lady. Her mind and body all work well.
(mine should work as well as hers)
Rita has lived in Qurindi for the past 2 years because her daughter Helen had cancer.
Helen died in October.
We brought Rita back to Jan Pembertons so she would have a ride to Church on Sunday.
We went back to Davisons for a short visit,
work on our talks we are suppose to give on Sunday.
Then off to the Greens for Tea (dinner). All their children and Grandchildren were there for Christmas and the Holidays.
It was another Aussie dinner and very good.
Home to Davisons, visit and to bed.
Rained on and off all day Saturday. Humid!!!!!!
Sunday, We spoke in Sacrament Meeting all went well.
Lots of the members were out of town but a lot of visiting family members were there.
We have met many of them before.
It was fun!
We went to Walkers for tea (lunch)
it was 2 hrs late as per usual, somethings don't change.
We went back, packed said our good-byes and went by to say a good bye to Marie.
It was a rain on and off all the way home, but a very nice drive.
Good to be home, It was a very good visit.

Ants

We came home yesterday from Tamworth after being gone for a few days.
This morning I went to use the microwave,
I looked at the little window where you can see the time.
I looked again and could see ants running all around inside the window.
I looked inside the microwave none there, none any where else.
You could see all the little larva being stored up.
Elder Doney took the microwave apart washed out the ants and larva.
Dried it out put it back together, it works, except the numbers in the little window.
Oh well! so much for knowing what the time is that you put in it.

Pelicans/Light polls

When we drive over one of the many bridges we go over we see
pelicans sleeping or cleaning them self
up on the light on the polls.
It never gets old watching for them.
I can't get a picture of them because we can't stop on the bridge.
So here are some pictures up close of pelicans
we have visited with.

Hot verses Cold Weather for Christmas

It is hard to feel like it is Christmas time
when the weather outside is Hot, Hot and Humid.
Most people are wearing flip-flops, shorts and singlets (tank tops)
or for women sun dresses.
We have the Christmas tree up
and bought a air conditioner for our Christmas present.
Some way the two just don't seem to go together.
Then try singing Christmas Carols
with sweat rolling down your face, back, arms, legs, etc.
Some way it just does not compute in our heads.
We have talked with several other persons from England,
Canada and America, they all say you just don't get your head used to
it being hot instead of cold or cool for Christmas time.

Who pulls Santa's Sleigh?

Australia's way of pulling Santa around
As Santa gets to Australia the Reindeer are not use to hot hot weather.

So the Kangaroos take over for the Reindeer and give them a rest.

I love this way of getting Santa around in Australia.

ONE YEAR IN AUSTRALIA

We have been in Australia one year today!

Time flies when you are doing the Lords work (service).

Days go slowly, Weeks come and go, it's Sunday and then it is Sunday again.

Month is here and then it is gone.

Then a year WOW! It does not seem possible.

The next Six months will fly bye.
